Artist Statement
I am an artist and retired art teacher. My work is primarily drawing, watercolor, and especially printmaking. Printmaking processes that I use include relief, intaglio, and lithography. I also experiment with mixed media. My subjects include organic dream inspired ideas, everyday people, and still life images of food and flowers.
The printmaking of Kathe Kollwitz and the collages of Romare Bearden have influenced me greatly. Both artists used their artwork as a commentary of their own lives and of their concern for the human condition.
